about us

Holberton is a global engineering school founded in San Francisco in 2016. We’re now in Australia, bringing the same project-based, peer-driven, AI-native pedagogy to the next generation of local engineers.

our story

How Holberton School started.

Launched in Silicon Valley in 2016, Holberton School was founded to address the critical lack of viable pathways into tech for career switchers.

Now with 35+ campuses worldwide, Holberton has empowered over 6,000 students to break into the tech industry, with alumni successfully working at leading companies such as Google, Apple, AWS, Dropbox and Pinterest.

why australia

Why did we launch Holberton School in Australia?

Australia needs more tech workers...

Australia needs 1.2 million more tech workers by 2030, but there’s only 7,000 tech related graduates coming out of University each year. There is a disconnect between talent supply and demand.

To reach 1.2 million tech workers by 2030… 500,000+ Australians need to start tech careers. 100,000 of these need to be career-switchers. That’s a lot of people!

So, we launched Holberton in Australia

We wanted to make a career in tech more accessible, to more Australians. So, we launched Holberton School Australia in January 2022.

Faster than university and deeper than a bootcamp, Holberton offers career switchers a practical and collaborative pathway into tech, with equal emphasis on technical and soft skill development.

our team
